Part of FIFA’s entertainment strategy during lockdown was to produce 12 new episodes of the PlayOn podcast remotely, and host iconic footballers and guest musicians to talk about the game-changing songs that inspire them, for audio format plus bonus video content with sneak peeks.
The Music
Our strategy to clear 12 requested tracks, from David Guetta feat. Sia “Titanium” and Shania Twain “That Don’t Impress Me Much” to Matteo Bocelli’s “Solo” debut, was to structure the deal and approach our music contacts to play ball on a level playing field, and we delivered on a micro budget.
The Message
The sports + music concept generated meaningful connections among football fans, players, and musicians around the globe, using songs as touchstones surrounding the game they all love, for programming distributed by the world’s leading independent podcast company, Acast.
